Mariah Carey's twins redefine spoilt: eat your heart out, Suri Cruise!

Mariah Carey's got a reputation as
one of the world's most demanding divas, but she's upped the diva dial to a whole new level now that she's expecting twins.
We can reveal the singer has spent a whopping £800k on decking out
a nursery fit for a king and queen for her unborn baby boy and girl.
The 40-year-old, married to Nick Cannon, 30, wants nothing but the best for her babies, who are due at the end of March.
‘Mariah and Nick have converted a whole wing of their Beverly Hills house into a luxury nursery,' says a pal.
‘Mariah wanted 18-carat gold trim, with ivory walls, soft furnishings and walk-in wardrobes full of Petit TrĂ©sor designer clothes.
'There's a top-of-the-range sound system and they'll each have diamond-encrusted iPods and a flatscreen TV that comes down from the ceiling.'
The twins will sleep in Chelsea Sleigh cribs, £1,390 each, while Mum and Dad relax in Glam Glider chairs at a knockdown £1,420. And there's a Clara changing table, worth £1,780.
‘Mariah and her designer Kenneth Bordewick are overseeing every detail,'
says our insider.
‘There's
a $1 million red-crushed velvet, 24-carat gold and onyx sofa used forMichael Jackson's shows. It's very Alice In Wonderland, with swags of silk on the back.
‘It might seem over the top, but Mariah has waited
a long time for her baby dreams to come true and
she says the twins will be
the most spoilt kids on
the planet.'
Ooooh! Can
you adopt us, Mariah?

Mariah Carey's Good Taste

Even as motherhood rapidly approaches, Mariah Carey refuses to slow down.

After debuting a footwear collection with HSN in November, the songstress is gearing up to return to the cable spotlight on Feb. 11 to showcase her spring line. The new collection features six styles, including an ankle-wrap platform sandal, a T-strap pump and other warm-weather offerings. And similar to the first line, the spring shoes are adorned with rhinestones, jewels and butterflies, all part of Carey's signature look.

Finding inspiration for the shoes came easily, Carey told Footwear News. "My life exists in public and in shoes," she said. "I'll build my outfit around the [footwear]."

And now, as her footwear selection has started to favor flats over stilettos by necessity, the mother-to-be said the shift could spark her next design project. "It's making me really want a maternity line," she said.

First concert: Michael Jackson. "I was addicted to listening to the radio, and Michael was always on. He [had] an amazing voice."

Best vacation spot: Capri, Italy. "I go shopping a lot. There are really nice stores and gorgeous blue water."

Funniest "Saturday Night Live" skit: "They did this skit about divas, and it was pretty funny. One of the girls [played] me, and there were [impersonations of] Celine Dion and Shania Twain."

Go-to fashion accessories: "My wedding ring and a butterfly ring."

Favorite duet partners: "I've made records with just about everybody. I just did a duet on my Christmas album with my mother, and a memorable event was working with Luciano Pavarotti. And for fun, I [loved] 'Fantasy' with Ol' Dirty Bastard."

Most enjoyable venue: "Performing at Madison Square Garden. I love New York. It's my hometown."

How I relax: "I love swimming, I love the beach and I love the water. I have to put on so much sunblock."

Movie I can watch over and over: "For a while it was 'Mean Girls.' I would quote it. Lately I watch 'Bruno.' It's hilarious."

Red carpet footwear picks: "Manolo [Blahnik] always does a fabulous red-carpet shoe, and I love YSL."

Mariah and Nick Get Ready for Twins' Arrival

In an exclusive interview with Nick Cannon Saturday, the America's Got Talent host spoke to RadarOnline.com about becoming a new dad, life with wife Mariah Carey and his special Valentine's Day plans.

"I'm extremely excited about bringing new life into the world," Cannon told us as he emceed Kellogg's Crunchy Nut cereal's U.S. launch. "It's a journey every single day. It's something new. I'm nervous. I'm excited. We're just taking it one day at a time."

Cannon, 30, who married 40-year-old diva-extraordinaire Mariah on April 30, 2008, had nothing but praise for his pregnant wife.

"She's holding up beautifully. To see this strength! It's a different type of strength to carry around two babies," Cannon says. "She's not even concerned with her aches and pains which I'm sure are great. She's so nurturing right now. It's wonderful. It's amazing to see."

And don't expect Mariah to be carrying around baby weight after she's given birth! Cannon shares with us Mariah's cooking secret that curbs her pregnancy cravings.

"I think she's figured out brilliantly that when she craves stuff she doesn't necessarily have to eat it," Cannon says. "When she cooks, she cooks everything from scratch and then the cravings go away. So I get stuck with eating all the food. I'll be gaining weight during this pregnancy."

The always jovial Cannon was mum when asked the sex of the twins and what he and Mariah plan on naming them. But he did dish some details on what he and Mimi have bought for the twins' room.

"Last night we went nursery and furniture shopping," he told us. "They're going to have a very interesting layout. We picked a lot of colors and one of the main colors is green."

And as Valentine's Day approaches, Cannon says he's got something special planned for Mariah.

"I'm a hopeless romantic so Valentine's Day is very important to me," the actor says. "I'm going to bring Valentine's Day to my wife. I'll probably Valentine's the house out. We're gonna put balloons, flowers, all of that stuff everywhere."

Mariah To Appear On New PETA Billboard

Lady Gaga's infamous "meat dress" may have drawn the ire of PETA, but that hasn't stopped the animal-rights organization from featuring her — along with fellow icons Pink and Mariah Carey — on a brand-new billboard, set to be unveiled Tuesday in Los Angeles.

It's part of PETA's "Fur-Free and Fabulous" campaign, and, despite the fallout over her Video Music Awards outfit, Gaga was chosen because, as PETA puts it in a press release, "Her anti-fur stance... has been unwavering."

PETA also selected Pink and Carey for the billboard — which will be raised on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles — because of their longtime anti-fur stances. Pink, who recently co-starred with comedian Ricky Gervais in PETA's "Stolen for Fashion" video short, once allegedly called out BeyoncĂ© for wearing fur, and Carey famously donated a pair of full-length Russian sable coats she had received as gifts to PETA, who, in turn, gave them to homeless women at their winter "fur kitchen" event.

With the new billboard, Gaga, Pink and Carey join a list of stars who have teamed with the organization to come out against fur. Last year's "Fur-Free and Fabulous" ad featured Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey.
