Nick Cannon chauffeured his wife Mariah Carey around sunny Malibu over Memorial Day weekend in their drop-top Rolls-Royce Phantom. The couple of two years is rumored to be expecting their first child.

Adding more fuel to the fire is Mariah’s recent departure from Tyler Perry’s film For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, in which she was to star alongside Janet Jackson.

“She is not doing the movie because her doctor advised her not to,” the singer’s rep told UsMagazine.com. “More than that I cannot comment further.”

Mariah Carey in talks to perform in Puerto Rico

Singer Mariah Carey may come to the island for the first time in September or November this year, to perform at the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot of Puerto Rico. The information was confirmed by producer Maritza Casiano who manages the contract for the world-renowned artist.

“For several months we have been in discussions with representatives of the singer to perform in Latin America, in order for this event to open our billboard shows to raise the necessary funds for the first one of a kind Training Center for Autistic Children and Youth in Puerto Rico, to be built in Hato Rey. A project that I will be working this year and next year, ” said the president of Casiano Group.

Although the contact is not yet signed, Casiano has identified two dates to accommodate the schedule of the singer throughout Central and South America.

“There is already a verbal commitment and hope that the contract is signed in the coming days,” she said.

The producer said that while her intentions are to raise funds for the Training Center, they have not asked for any donation from the singer.

“We’re not asking people to donate anything; we are trying to make the event accessible to the vast majority of Puerto Rico to attend in mass at reasonable prices that we offer, and thus be able to fill to capacity to raise the necessary funds for this purpose.”

We all know that Mariah Carey was in love with this country since she dated singer Luis Miguel. Her most recent trip was to celebrate her birthday in March with her husband Nick Cannon at the Hotel Conquistador in Fajardo.

“2010 appears to be the year of icons on the island, first Paul McCartney and now the performance of the singer who holds the Guinness record as the artist who has sold the most albums on the planet next to Celine Dion,” said Casiano.

Mariah Carey’s debut single, “Vision of Love,” entered the Billboard Hot 100, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Adult Contemporary charts 20 years ago this week, in the June 2, 1990, issue. The song would become the first of her 18 Hot 100 No. 1s, the most among solo artists in the chart’s 52-year history. (Among all acts, only the Beatles, with 20, have more.) Carey has tallied 15 toppers on Hot Dance Club Songs, 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and six on Adult Contemporary.

Carey’s total U.S. album sales stand at 64.5 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan, which began tracking album sales a year after her arrival. In that span, only Garth Brooks (68.4 million) and the Beatles (60.9 million) rank higher. Carey has six No. 1 Billboard 200 titles, including her best selling album, 1995’s “Daydream” (7.6 million). “Daydream” also yielded the 16-week Hot 100 No. 1 “One Sweet Day,” with Boyz II Men, marking the chart’s longest reign. The ballad subsequently earned the honor of Billboard’s top song of the ’90s. Carey’s 2005 14-week Hot 100 No. 1 “We Belong Together” likewise became the chart’s top title of the 2000s.

Mariah Carey Performs At Giza Pyramids In Egypt

Mariah Carey performed one of her most awe-inspiring concerts yet, thanks to the backdrop of the Giza Pyramids in Egypt. Taking the stage in the middle of the 3 pyramids, even Carey, having performed all over the word for 20 years now, was in awe. It was her first time in Egypt.

“Wow! I can’t believe I’m standing here,” Carey told the crowd of about 3000 executives and VIPs for Etisalat’s 3rd Anniversary celebration on Monday. “I mean you guys you’re maybe used to it, but us… [pointing to long-time back-up singer Trey Lorenz] that man comes from a town with 300 people only, and and I’m from New York.”

She kicked off the show with “It’s Like That” from “The Emancipation of Mimi,” and kept the hits coming, including “Dreamlover,” “Shake It Off,” “Emotions,” and “I’ll Be There” with Lorenz.

The 13-song set continued with Carey performing her classics, including “Always Be My Baby,” “Honey,” and “My All.” She closed the show with the two ballads “Hero” and “Without You.”

Last year’s “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” was relegated only to its lead single, “Obsessed.” Carey is also reportedly working on a new album, re-teaming with producer Jermaine Dupri. Dupri helmed her #1 smash “We Belong Together,” which Billboard last year called the “Song of the Decade.”

As if performing in front of the pyramids, which few artists like Sting and Shakira have done before her, wasn’t memorable enough, Carey tweeted about putting out an electrical fire just moments before hitting the stage.

“In Egypt getting ready to go on stage and suddenly there was a surge of power and an electrical fire started under my feet!” Carey wrote. “Naturally, my emergency instincts kicked in and I put out the flames with a towel.”

“But other than that the trip was a smash,” she said.

Mariah Carey saves the day! Just before she lit up the stage for a show in Egypt, the star put out a very literal fire. The singer tweeted about the incident as it was happening.

“In Egypt getting ready to go on stage and suddenly there was a surge of power and an electrical fire started under my feet! Wtf?!” she tweeted on Monday. “Naturally, my emergency instincts kicked in and I put out the flames w/a towel. Lol (yet true),” she tweeted.

Carey seemed to have a pretty good sense of humor about the incident. “The funny thing about this is an ol’skool radio station in the other room started playing ‘aww freak out!’ @ that exact moment!”

She then tweeted her friend, Jasmine Dotiwala, saying, “@jasminedotiwala. Appalled U didn’t tweet to see if I’m ok after the fire incident in Egypt! (Said in my diva theatrical accent: )”

Carey also posted a photo of the surge protector that caught fire. “These r the charred remains of my fire on the Nile,” she wrote.

This actually isn’t the first time Carey has acted as her own personal firefighter. Hubby Nick Cannon revealed that on one Valentine’s Day, Carey saved the holiday from turning into a burning inferno. “So you walk into this room and all you see is red and lights and candles. We were opening gifts and I smell smoke … the whole room was on fire,” he recalled to MTV News. “And I screamed like a little bitch. Mariah, being a hero that she is, put the fire out. She’s my hero. She’s my Valentine hero, so hopefully this year we won’t set nothing on fire.”

Mariah Performs in Egypt

2 Nights ago(May 17th), Mariah performed at a private concert held at the Pyramids Panorama, in Egypt, in front of an ecstatic crowd of thousands of VIP guests who were there for Etisalat’s 3rd Anniversary celebration. After her concert, Mariah stopped by the pyramids for a few minutes to take some pictures.

Mariah Carey extinguishes electrical fire on stage with towel in Egypt before concert

Fans know Mariah Carey as a heartbreaker. But a firefighter?

Carey revealed on Twitter Monday that she stopped an electrical fire with a towel just before taking the stage in Egypt.

“In Egypt getting ready to go on stage and suddenly there was a surge of power and an electrical fire started under my feet!” she tweeted. “Wtf?!”

Carey added that her “emergency instincts” told her to suffocate the fire with a towel.

According to the songstress, a local radio station seemed to be in tune with the crisis and played the appropriate soundtrack.

“The funny thing about this ish [sic] is an ol’skool radio station in the other room started playing ‘aww freak out!’ @that exact moment!”

Carey is currently on tour in the Middle East. She recently performed against a backdrop of the Giza Pyramids.

Simon Cowell wants dibs on Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey for “X Factor”

Pop-music couples Jennifer Lopez-Marc Anthony and Marah Carey-Nick Cannon are being courted by Simon Cowell to appear as judges on the U.S. version of his “X Factor” show.

A source told U.K.’s The Mirror: “Simon needs diversity on the panel if the US X Factor is going to be a big smash.”

“He thinks J.Lo or her hubby would be fantastic additions so it could be bad news for Cheryl (Cole).”

Christina Aguilera, Jamie Foxx, Lady GaGa, Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Paula Abdul have all been approached for a role on the show in recent months. However, Cowell remains the only judge committed.

JLo is currently hosting this weekend’s World Music Awards in Monaco. Cowell wants her on the show as a means to tap the lucrative Latino market. JLo’s recent film “The Back Up Plan” has made $31 million stateside. Carey is scheduled to star in the next Tyler Perry film “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.”

Dermot O’Leary is expected to host the reality show.

TV personality Nick Cannon and wife Mariah Carey may become members of the Hamptons Scene “soon.” Cannon made remarks to that effect at an appearance at Smithtown High School West while filming a one-hour “Teen Nick HALO Awards” special for Nickelodeon. Cannon said the couple have been thinking about buying real estate in the Hamptons, but have not made any moves yet. “We’re going to do something up in this area,” Cannon said, “a vacation home or a real home, “soon.” This would not be Mariah’s first Long Island experience it would actually be a return to her roots as she grew up in Huntington and graduated from Harborfield High School. Perhaps St. Bart’s and what not have become tired to the Carey-Cannons and with the baby rumors swirling they are looking for something where they can have a family but still party. Carey’s rep recently confirmed that the singer is not pregnant, even though everyone thought she was because she showed up at a Beverly Hills deli looking curvy. Nick? Mariah? Sinitta hints that Mariah Carey being lined up for US version of The X-Factor

Eighties pop star Sinitta has hinted that Mariah Carey is being lined up for a role on the judging panel on the US version of The X-Factor.

The 41-year-old star is good friends with boss Simon Cowell and said he is still deciding on who will make up the judging panel.

She said to Liv: 'I think he's still working it out. He's still looking at slides of different people's profiles and different personalities, A-list celebrities.

'It's very exciting and I was like: 'Oh my God, yes, they'll be great! Oh my God! Oh my God!' But I kind of wanted everyone.'

Nick Cannon Gives OK! All the Scoop on His Vow Renewal

OK! caught up with Nick Cannon at the premiere of Just Wright at Ziegfeld Theater in NYC on Thursday where he talked candidly about how is vow renewal with Mariah Carey was just this year, but he’ll still outdo himself next year!

Each year since they married on May 30, 2008, Nick renews his vows with Mariah and tries to make the new ceremony better than the last!

“It was fun,” Nick told OK! about his ceremony this year. “Except that the paparazzi was there, but besides that it was cool.”

One thing Nick changed up this year was inviting a more people to attend.

“This was the most that we had. Every year we try to get more and more,” he explained. “This time it was just like family and friends. Close family and friends.”

Nick’s present to Mariah hasn’t been a secret since its sparkle could be seen miles away. But Mariah’s gift to Nick was just as special to him as a diamond ring — she took him to the Mayweather vs. Mosley fight at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

“That was cool because what girl would want to?” Nick said, adding, “And she enjoyed it just as much as I did.”

What does Nick have in store for year four?

“Probably New York,” he told OK!. “We haven’t done New York, so our New York friends haven’t gotten a chance to celebrate with us.”

But, he’s going take his time figuring out the details.

“I don’t know,” he added. ” I got a whole year to think about it.”

In the meantime, Nick has a lot of other work to do!

“I got a bunch of stuff coming up,” he added. “Outside of America’s Got Talent coming up June 1, but my comedy tour starts in July. We going on the road, me and a couple of the cast members from Wild N Out, we going out and doing some stand up.”

But Nick’s also still working with Nickelodeon and TeenNick.

“It’s cool, it’s a 9 to 5 job,” he said. “I get to explore the corporate side, so I’m enjoying it.”

And who knows, his wife may even join him on a show!

“We got to do a couple of promos and stuff and we do the Halo awards every year. Last year we had Alicia Keys and Lebron James and Justin Timberlake, that kind of got her amped,” Nick told OK!. “She was like, I want to be on it this year. So, you might see her on it this year.”

Mariah Carey Wants You to Smell Like a Lollipop

Mariah Carey is taking you to the candy shop this summer. The “eternally 12” diva is bottling a sticky-and-sweet scent that will have lambs licking their chops.

Elizabeth Arden has announced Lollipop Bling as the name of Mariah’s latest fragrance, which is scheduled to hit stores in June, according to Reuters. The singer’s previous scents include M by Mariah Carey, Forever Mariah Carey, and Mariah Carey’s Luscious Pink. More are reportedly due this holiday season.

Mariah has a song on her latest album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel called “Candy Bling,” and she received a diamond-studded Ring Pop from husband Nick Cannon for the couple’s second wedding anniversary.

A new perfume isn’t the only thing on Mimi’s plate. She has been in the studio working with Jermaine Dupri on a new studio album, as well as a collection of Christmas songs.

Mariah's New Fragrance "Lollipop Bling" Due in June

At Elizabeth Arden, much of the fragrance sales decline stemmed from department stores returning discontinued brands. The company is also seeing merchants reduce the number of brands they carry.

Arden hopes that new products will spur some growth. After seeing a 50 percent rise in Juicy Couture fragrance sales so far this year it will launch Peace, Love and Juicy Couture in upscale stores in August. Other items include Mariah Carey's Lollipop Bling, due in June, and Kate Spade fragrances, due out in the fall.

J.D. Talks New Mariah Carey Album

Mariah Carey and Jermaine Dupri pleased fans last month when they announced that they were rekindling their magic in the studio. J.D. shared a few more details of their reunion with Rap-Up.com.


The So So Def CEO, who had a heavy hand in 2005’s best-selling album of the year, The Emancipation of Mimi, said he is in the early stages of recording the pop diva’s next effort. He is hoping to produce the majority of the project and aims to have a single out this year.

“We started last week and we don’t take long when we get in, so hopefully a single before the end of the year,” he told Rap-Up.com. Bryan-Michael Cox and Johnta Austin are also involved with Mimi’s new music.

In addition, Mariah is reportedly working on a Christmas album, for which she recently shot the packaging with famed photographer David LaChapelle.

Mariah gets a blinged-out Ipad

Mariah Carey lives a glamorous life. As her classic episode of “Cribs” proved, her life is full of high fashion, elevators, designer furniture and bubble baths for her pets. Her latest acquisition is another chapter in the fabulous life of Mrs. Nick Cannon. In a video posted by producer Jermaine Dupri (who is in the studio working with Carey), he reveals her latest toy: An iPad that is blinged-out, bedazzled and that features the letter “M” along with her signature butterfly symbol. As Carey explains in the video, she received it as a gift from Elizabeth Arden, the cosmetics company that distributes Carey’s line of fragrances (with more coming this holiday season, she reminds the viewing public).

Even Dupri — a guy who once rapped “Money ain’t a thing” on one of his biggest hits — found the piece a little bit gaudy. “I just wanted to make a little ‘living the life’ moment here,” Dupri joked on the video. “This is an iPad by the way, but you’re s— don’t look like this.”

“They’re very generous, nice people,” argues Carey, who defends her shiny present. The video also includes a flashback to a few days prior, where Carey, Dupri and songwriters and producers B. Cox and Johnta Austin (referring to themselves as “The Song of the Decade Crew” because of their association with Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You,” which was declared the biggest R&B song of the past decade) work on new music. The team previously worked together on Carey songs like “We Belong Together” and “Shake It Off,” which bodes well for the singer, who is coming off the disappointing Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Her new album is due some time in 2010.

Mariah's riffing on 'Always Be My Baby' with hubby Nick

At her marriage re-commitment fete Friday with Nick Cannon at their Beverly Hills home, Mariah Carey spoke openly about the couple's deep desire to have a child, a guest tells me.

The singing superstar's recent weight gain has reportedly been due to fertility treatments Carey has been undergoing.

"Not that a few extra pounds on Mariah bothers Nick at all. He likes his woman with a bit of meat on her bones," the friend said with a laugh.

While Carey has continued to hope she and Cannon can conceive a baby, she also reportedly is now looking into adopting.

A number of Carey chums report the entertainer has been deeply moved by the story of Sandra Bullock's long-secret adoption of little Louis -- first revealed publicly last week in that People magazine cover story.

In celebration of their second wedding anniversary, Mariah Carey and Cannon renewed their vows Friday at their Beverly Hills home.

The 40-year-old Grammy-winning superstar donned a cleavage-baring white dress and veil, and palmed a bouquet, while her America’s Got Talent host hubby sported a white suit for the outdoor ceremony, which included a string quartet.

Of course, no Cannon-Carey occasion is complete without a little bling…

So, befittingly, 29-year-old Cannon surprised his wife with a super-sweet treat for their anniversary: a diamond-encrusted candy ring pop look-alike designed by Jason of Beverly Hills Jewelers, made out of white gold and comprised of white diamonds and pink sapphires, according to People.

This extravagant couple’s candy ring obsession is nothing new, however. When Cannon proposed to Carey in 2008, he reportedly disguised her diamond engagement ring in a Ring Pop candy wrapper.

Saturday morning, the Obsessed crooner headed to Twitter to share the nuptial re-do news, tweeting, “So last night’s wedding vow renewal & small party was a SG..too many cameras(from close & far!) but it was beautiful. NC is the best: )”.

This isn’t the second time the couple has swapped vows, however. Friday’s ceremony marked Carey’s third walk down the aisle with Cannon.

“We get married every year! That’s our thing,” Cannon told Us Magazine. “If you were married to Mariah Carey, you’d want to marry her every year too! I just have to keep doing it to make sure it’s real.”

The couple wed in April 2008 at Carey’s Bahamian estate after dating for only six weeks.

Nick Cannon's Anniversary Gift to Mariah Carey: Candy Bling!

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey have a shared love of candy ring pops – so why not combine that love with some serious bling for an anniversary gift?

Cannon did just that when he gave his wife a custom-made "Ring Pop" as a surprise gift during their small, private party for their second anniversary in Los Angeles Friday. But this sweet treat was no sucker: Hand crafted at Jason of Beverly Hills jewelers, the sparkler was made of white gold encrusted in white diamonds and pink sapphires.

"It also comes in a box complete with a spinner so that you can see it sparkle under the lights inside," Jason Arasheben, the CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills, tells PEOPLE.

And the candy ring has history in the happy couple's relationship: Three years ago when Cannon, 29, proposed to Carey, 41, it was with a diamond ring disguised in a ring pop candy wrapper. They got married in 2008 on Carey's Bahamian estate.

It's fitting that Carey's last album, Memories of an Imperfect Angel, has a track called "Candy Bling" on which Carey professes her love of old school candy ring pops.

Says Arasheben, "The ring pop design is something Nick knew Mariah would absolutely love."

Last month, Cannon said he and Carey planned to renew their vows as part of their anniversary celebration. "I encourage everybody to do it," he said at the time. "If you are happy and in love, celebrate it!"
